Intro To Intimate Choreography

By Whitney Marchelle

This engaging workshop introduces consent-forward practices for staging intimacy in theatre and film. Designed for actors, directors, and creatives of all levels, participants will learn tools for boundary-setting, clear communication, and choreographing authentic connection with intention and care.

Rooted in the richness of Black storytelling, the session centers the beauty and nuance of Black love while prioritizing performer safety and collaboration. Through guided discussion and optional movement exercises, attendees will explore how intimate moments can be structured, repeatable, and grounded in trust. This workshop offers a practical, empowering foundation for creating respectful, compelling, and emotionally honest work.
