Set in Pittsburgh’s Hill District in the late 1970s, August Wilson’s Jitney takes place in the office of an unlicensed cab company fighting to survive as the neighborhood changes around it. The company is run by Becker, who has spent his life trying to bring order and dignity to a world that offers little of either. When Becker faces both the impending demolition of his business and the return of his estranged son, Booster, old wounds and buried tensions rise to the surface.
