2017 Spotlight on Health

The North Carolina Black Repertory Company (producers of the National Black Theatre Festival) is partnering with local organizations to improve the health of the community by utilizing the arts.

2017 NBTF Featured Performances

Two 2017 NBTF performances are featured in the Spotlight on Health based on the health topics involved in each play:


  • August 1 – 3  (buy tickets)
  • Location:  Wake Forest University Mainstage
  • Talkback Panel on Alzheimer’s disease after August 2 3:00 pm performance (buy tickets)
  • Free tickets will be given to 25 caregivers in the community.  Contact Deb Burcombe at for free ticket information.

Sting of White Roses  |  BREAST CANCER

  • August 3 – 5  (buy tickets)
  • Location:  Hanesbrands Theatre
  • Talkback Panel on Breast Cancer after August 5 3:00 pm performance (buy tickets).   See list of panelists below.
  • 25 tickets will be given to the August 5 3:00 pm performance for the first 25 women receiving a mammogram at the Health Fair.

Novant Health Mobile Mammography Unit

Novant Health will be on-site to provide mammographies.  25 appointments are available and must be scheduled in advance.

To schedule a mammography appointment for August 5th, please email or call 336.397.6805.

Tours of the Mobile Mammography Unit will take place from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
